Volunteer with SID Ottawa-GatineauFor information about volunteer opportunities, download our 2009 Volunteer Package (PDF) and 2009 Volunteer Waiver (PDF), or email us at . Message from the Volunteer CoordinatorHi SID-OG Volunteers, Let me take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Volunteer Coordinator for the SID-OG programming year, 2009-2010. To give you a little info about me: I'm a recent graduate of the Norman Paterson School for International Affairs, and I'm currently working for the Afghanistan Task Force at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. I'm thrilled to be a part of the SID-OG team this year, since our agenda is shaping up to be a very exciting 2009-2010! To make it happen--this is where we need you! We can't do it all without the continued help and support of our volunteers. This message is to those who have either volunteered with us in the past or expressed an interest in volunteering for SID-OG. I'm asking that you please send me an email, and reconfirm your interest in being a SID-volunteer. This year, in an effort to keep things organized and running on schedule, I'm asking that you please look at the attachment that I've included here. Really take a look at the volunteer roles where you fit best. Based on your interest, pick two areas you would like to commit to volunteer for this year, rank them in order of preference, and let me know. I will match you to a team leader--an experienced SID-OG Board member--and you will become part of a volunteer team. On Wednesday, September 23, we will be having a volunteer orientation session in the lower level of the Heart and Crown in the Byward Market at 6:30pm, where you will meet your team leader and other SID-OG volunteers and Board members. It should be a great time. If you are able to attend, please RSVP to . My hope is this new approach will ensure that together, we will be able to organize our SID events easily and efficiently. Through cooperation, and working together, we will make sure that everyone's contribution makes the greatest impact to Ottawa-based international development education, without asking too much of your valuable free-time. The best part is you will become a part of a growing and exciting international development network in the city. I look forward to meeting you all in the very near future. All the best, Jenny Message from the PresidentDear SID-OG Member, I would like to thank you in advance for your interest in volunteering with the Society for International Development, Ottawa-Gatineau (SID-OG) Chapter.
